Rumors are swirling around that Apple is planning to possibly launch a new iPad update at an event in New York City later this month.
Except now, it seems this rumor has been put to rest, because the TechCrunch website is reporting that the Cupertino-based company plans to launch the iBookstore with a “media announcement” at this event, and not to announce the release of a much anticipated iPad 3 or Apple TV update.
Here is a quote from the TechCrunch website, “According to the source the event will not involve any hardware at and instead will focus on publishing and eBooks (sold through Apple’s iBooks platform) rather than iAds. Attendance also be more publishing industry-oriented than consumer.”
As written by Walter Isaacson in Steve Jobs’ biography, the Apple CEO had big plans on revolutionizing the way the textbook industry worked. Steve Jobs is definitely one of the best innovators this world has ever known, so it’s not surprising to hear the form rockstar/CEO is still changing the way people use technology even after his time on Earth has expired.
