Was The iPad 2 Really Spotted At The Daily Press Event ?

From the reports I’ve been reading from various websites that cover iPad news, the press event for The Daily today in New York City seemed to suggest that someone spotted a working model of the new iPad 2.

Reuters reported that one of their staff members “allegedly” saw a working prototype of the yet to be announced iPad 2, and it came equipped with front and rear facing cameras.

According to the report, Reuters contacted Apple and News Corp to get more information on the new Apple tablet, but unfortunately both companies declined to comment. Here is a quote from a Reuters representative named Jennifer Saba, “A Reuters eyewitness saw what appeared to be a working model of the next iPad with a front-facing camera at the top edge of the glass screen. A source with knowledge of the device confirmed its existence, adding that the final release model could have other features.”

This all sounds great and all, but this leads me to the one big question that it seems nobody is asking… if the iPad 2 was spotted at an event full of reporters with cameras, then why is there not a picture of this magical device? Seems kind of sketchy to me… what do you think?

  • It seems that The Daily is making news again which only aides to my theory that mobile marketing will blow up this year. I’m seeing a lot more QR codes too.

A mobile marketing trends article says that 63% of iPhone owners use location-based services – now can you imagine a mobile newspaper that can target ads based on your location? It’s going to be huge.
