Your favorite video game maker EA is now bringing the Simpsons to the iPad and other Apple devices.
The Simpsons don’t really have the best track record when it comes to video games. Even though they might have had a few hits in the past, for the most part most Simpson’s games were actually a failure. The last successful Simpsons video game was probably back in 2003 when they launched Hit and Run, other than that Simpson’s fans have been waiting high and dry for another game worth buying.
Well now the wait is over, because news is that EA is prepping to launch a new Simpson’s game for iOS devices called “The Simpsons: Tapped Out.” According to reports, the game is being developed using some of the same writers and voice talent as the actual television show. The Simpsons Tapped Out game takes place in Springfield as Homer tries to rebuild the same city he blew up during a nuclear explosion.
The game is rumored to be completely free to download, but of course users should expect the “in-grade” upgrades for the possibility to play as new characters or unlock different game play activities. I’m actually expecting pretty good things from this iOS Simpsons game, even though there has been a lot of bad titles in the past, having the same writers and voice actors as the TV show should make for a pretty decent release.
Reports suggest that EA will probably release “The Simpsons: Tapped Out” sometime within the next coming months.
