Apple makes news by suing again, this time it’s the companies that makes the “non-apple” accessories such as the chargers, speakers and cables for the iPod, iPhone and the iPad tablet. Apple stated, “Many are of inferior quality and reliability, raising significant concerns over compatibility with and damage to Apple’s products,” according to a news report from Bloomberg.com. The complaint, filed July 22 in federal court, identifies six sellers from CA and WA alone …with a possibility of 20 or more companies to soon stand by them.
In the past Apple has sued other companies for selling knockoff power adapters. The ruling was the companies had to stop selling their knock off electronics. This just goes to show how brilliant the Apple execs are for finding a way to keep all the money “in the family”.
The case is Apple Inc. v. eForCity Corp., 10-3216, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (San Francisco).
