Apple has big plans for the Apple TV set top box

Apple unveiled their plans for the Apple TV device Wednesday at their secret press event. The new Apple TV should be available for purchase early next month for around $99.99 or you can pre-order the device from Apple.com. The new Apple TV device will sport the Apple A4 processor, which is the same processor that is inside the iPad and iPhone devices. This is a big improvement from the previous Apple TV device which had a Intel processor and included a 160gb hard drive. This is the first Apple device that runs an A4 processor and does not actually have access to the Apple App store.

The new Apple TV set top box will have the capabilities to stream video and pictures directly to a users HDTV over a WiFi network. The device will also have a built in infa-red receiver that will work with the remote control that comes with the Apple TV.
